Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes how ClipRig ("we", "us", "our"), operated by David Nesse, collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our service at cliprig.gg.
1. Information We Collect
Account information: When you register, we collect your email address, a hashed password, and optionally a display name. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email and profile name.
Usage data: We collect information about how you use the Service, including which channels you monitor, clip counts, review actions, and feature usage. This helps us improve the product and enforce subscription limits.
Video content: Clips captured from live streams are temporarily stored on our servers for your review. They are not shared with any third parties and are deleted according to our retention policy.
Payment information: We use Stripe to process payments. We do not store your full payment card details. Stripe provides us with a customer ID and subscription status. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data they collect.
Log data: Like most services, we automatically collect server logs including IP addresses, browser type, and pages accessed. This is used for security, debugging, and abuse prevention.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and maintain the Service (monitoring, clipping, review queue)
- To manage your account and subscription
- To send transactional emails (email verification, password reset, billing receipts)
- To enforce usage limits and detect abuse
- To improve the Service based on aggregate, anonymised usage patterns
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising.
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate ClipRig:
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription management
- Google — optional OAuth sign-in and Gemini AI for video analysis
- Deepgram — audio transcription for caption generation
- Twitch / Kick / YouTube APIs — live stream monitoring (you connect these yourself)
Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We share only the minimum data necessary for each integration to function.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored on servers in the United States. We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls.
Video clips are stored temporarily. Clips not manually deleted are subject to automatic expiry after a period of inactivity (30 days for buffer clips beyond your plan limit).
No security measure is 100% foolproof. In the event of a data breach that affects your personal data, we will notify you as required by applicable law.
5. Cookies
We use session cookies and local storage to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking cookies, third-party analytics cookies, or advertising cookies.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Update inaccurate data via your account settings.
- Deletion: Delete your account (and associated personal data) at any time from the Danger Zone in your account settings.
- Portability: Request an export of your data.
- Objection: Object to certain processing of your data.

7. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. billing records).
8. Children
ClipRig is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
